Foos-tastic

As many of you who read this may know, I work at a company called InnovaSystems. They basically were a landing pad for those who left Automark in the mass exodus of 2004-2005.

Langdon and I both went to different jobs for some time, but the gravitational pull was too great to be resisted. It's nice to see so many familiar faces every day, guys who I have worked with for almost 5 years now. We have a good time there, and don't get me wrong we get large amounts of work done too.

We have Steve, Athens, Noah, Chris, Myself and Langdon, I'm pretty sure that's the order of hire. (I'm not including the 1-week stint I had there in '04)

Anyway, recently we moved into a very nice facility, especially compared to the NH-95 building on the naval base. We have a sweet break room with a widescreen plasma TV, a playstation 2, and a media center PC. But most importantly, we have a foosball table.

Langdon and I are on a team, "The Foos Fighters." Generally he plays defense and I play offense. Chris J is teamed up Jason from our project. I don't know if it's official, but we call them "Pity the Foos."

We generally are pretty evenly matched, but we have noticed that recently we are going for 1-2 week stretches where one team dominates the other. This past 2 weeks it was Langdon and I.

Today, after a fairly drawn out match we were winning against "Pity the Foos" by 9-5, Lang wasn't doing much scoring, so he felt he had something to prove. He asked me, "Do you mind if I score the last point?" I of course didn't mind. So with his 2 bar (The second to last bar from the goal) he pushes the ball back against the wall, waits for it to roll into place, then smacks it right in from the backfield for the winning point. It may be the best pre-called shot I've seen to date.

If we follow the pattern, we have definitely used up all our luck so next week should be interesting.
